We are a small group that decided taking big heavy sections of modular train sections were too heavy, bulky, and most of all not kid friendly. Without kids getting involved our hobby will decline. With that though in mind we came up with a easy to build assemble, disassemble, and store modular layout system with each 20″ x 20″ square only weighing 6 pounds!
Our sections are simple to build and easy to put together and take apart later for storage.
Here are our squares before they are connected. You can see that our only limits are the number of squares, tables, and our imaginations. We then plug the squares together and set up the scenery….after that? Why we run trains of course! Conventional and TMCC all can be run. DCS too!
The modules are built as 20″ x 20″ squares using Lionel Fastrack both the standard 10″ straights and the O36 curves. These can be stored in a closet or under a bed. These are a great way to let the kids, or the kids in all of us, be able to play trains and not have to have a big mess to clean up.
